Built To The Drawing
Every cage is tied to the engineer's details and held to code. These are the standards, materials, and techniques behind the complex work — bridges, foundations, and the structural shells that have to pass inspection the first time.
Billet-steel and low-alloy deformed bar for concrete reinforcement.
Fusion-bonded epoxy for corrosive and coastal environments.
Engineer-specified mix design; shotcrete for pool shells.
Structural concrete — detailing, development length, splice, and seismic provisions.
Per engineer; Class A/B lap splices, or couplers where bars are too congested to lap.
Clear cover to bar per ACI for cast-against-earth, formed, and corrosive conditions.
Bridges
Structural steel wide-flange stringers set to camber, shear studs welded to the top flange, and a reinforced concrete deck — main steel perpendicular to traffic with distribution steel. Decks are built to the load rating with epoxy-coated bar where deicing salt is a factor. Abutments and piers rest on drilled caissons or spread footings tied with grade beams.
Foundations & Caissons
Drilled shafts 12"–72" with full-length spiral cages, tied to the engineer's ties and splices and set to bedrock. Spread footings and pile caps get top and bottom mats with vertical dowels. Grade beams tie the system together with continuous mats and stirrup ties so the whole foundation acts as one.
Retaining Walls
Cantilever and tied-back walls with #5–#8 grade 60 vertical steel doweled into the footing, horizontal mats, and stirrup ties. Cages are pre-tied in the yard and field-set, or built in place on tight hillside access. Drainage, waterproofing, and the engineer's section are all held to the drawing.
Pool Shells
Hand-tied #4–#5 steel at 6" centers following the pool's curves, steps, and infinity weirs — blocked to grade and built shotcrete-ready. The shell is the form; tolerances are held to ±1/4 inch so the plaster goes on true.
